Policy Planner


Richard joined Gladman in May 2014. He is involved in the preparation of representations on local authorities planning policy documents and undertakes other policy research including monitoring the activities of the UK Local Enterprise Partnerships.

Richard has extensive planning experience at a senior level in local authorities most recently having been employed by Cheshire East Council as Planning Policy Manager.  In that role Richard was responsible for preparing the Cheshire East Local Plan and other planning policy documents and advising developers in respect of major development schemes. Prior to working for Cheshire East, Richard was Local Planning and Economic Policy Manager for Congleton Borough Council where he was responsible for the preparation of the Congleton Borough Local Plan and for the Council’s economic development service.

Richard holds a BA Honours Degree in Urban and Regional Planning and is a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Outside of work, Richard enjoys gardening, travelling and looking after the family menagerie of dogs, horses, geese, ducks and chicken. He enjoys watching most sports but particularly football and cricket.
