Rachel joined Gladman’s legal team from local government in April 2014.
Having turned her back on a career in music, Rachel attended the College of Law in Chester, qualifying as a solicitor in 1983. Rachel practised commercial and residential conveyancing in Cheshire in the 1980s before moving into local government in 1992.
In local government, Rachel gained experience in planning and environmental law including as a planning committee adviser, prosecutor and inquiry advocate. She was also appointed deputy monitoring officer. Rachel’s expertise in planning obligations is being put to use at Gladman Developments.
Rachel has been married to Tony since 1981. They have two children, David and Sarah, who have both competed at national level in swimming.
Rachel has retained an interest in music and her claim to fame is that she was the first female member of Foden’s Motor Works Band.
Rachel enjoys walking her dog every day and tries to go to the gym at weekends.
