Phill Bamford

Phill joined Gladman in March 2012 and is a fully qualified and certified town planner. Phill has been involved in a number of projects since joining Gladman both leading and assisting in the preparation of planning applications for large scale residential proposals including 315 units at Bridlington Road, Driffield, 200 units at Byfield Road, Woodford Halse, 210 units with a 50 unit care facility at Kirkdale Road, Kirkbymoorside and 170 units at Boroughbridge Road, Knaresborough.

He has 17 years of experience with Local Authority having been employed by Cheshire West and Chester, Vale Royal Borough, Tameside Metropolitan Borough and Broxbourne Borough Councils in the strategic planning teams. Phill is also an external examiner with Manchester University on their Master’s degree programme and assists the Royal Town Planners Institute with the delivery of Continuing Professional Development as well as acting as a mentor to planning students working towards their professional qualification. Phill was previously the Local Development Framework (LDF) Manager for Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council where his responsibilities included the preparation of the Local Plan for the Council, assisting in the delivery of Neighbourhood Planning and providing advice to developers on major planning schemes. Before joining Cheshire West and Chester, he was the Local Plan Manager for Vale Royal Borough Council.

In his spare time Phill is a keen landscape photographer concentrating in particular on the North Wales and Snowdonia area. He is also a former chef so spends a large amount of time in the kitchen creating dishes from around the world. Phill is also an avid follower of Arsenal and travels the country to support his team and watch them frequently lose.
