Chris Ball

Planning Director

Chris joined Gladman in January 2017 having gained experience in public and private planning sector roles that have included as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Department for Communities and Local Government’s – Planning Division, and most recently as an Associate in Savills Central London planning team.

In his various roles, Chris has been responsible for the preparing and submitting of a diverse range of planning application types that have included major residential and commercial developments. His experience in Government has left him with a particular interest in technical and legislative aspects of planning.

At Gladman, Chris is responsible the promotion of strategic residential sites for development. This includes site appraisals, reviewing local plan policy, analysing housing demand and land supply, management of the planning application submission process, negotiation of Section 106 agreements and attendance at Planning Inquiries.

Chris is a qualified Town Planner holding a Masters Degree in Town & Country Planning from London South Bank University and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from The University of Sydney. He is also a professional member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Outside of work, Chris is an advocate of motorsports, cars and cooking, although his time is mainly spent with his young family.
